Brake Fluid Boiling Point

Rear brake boiled over at the last enduro, got me thinking about what brake fluid to use. I got lots of suggestions and a lot of conflicting info. So I did some checking on my own and came across a list of brake fluid brands and their boiling points.

The variance by brand is pretty large, especially the wet boiling points.


Good info so I thought I should share it.

Each time brake fluid boils its viscosity and boiling temperature are reduced.

Wet Boiling Temp: Boiling point when moisture has entered the system, happens slowly over time.

Dry Boiling Temp: Boiling point when the fluid is fresh, in a new, sealed, unopened container.
